safety regulations

From 2007 to 2013, we were HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) certified. In 2013, the HACCP became less relevant for the food sector and we decided to obtain our IFS (International Food Standard) certificate. To date, we have been IFS certified. Since 2012, we also have a Skall (foundation supervising organic products) certificate to be able to package organic products. The following certificates were later added here: SKAL Bio Certificate and Rainforest Certificate.

Safe Packaging

Food packaging enterprises are responsible for ensuring that any substances migrating into the packaged food are safe for consumer health.
We aim to produce safe packaging at all times that complies with legal requirements and that meets the expectations and needs of our customers and consumers.
In this process, attention will be paid to ensure the well-being of the employees and there will be a continuous effort to minimise the impact on the environment. We recycle all cardboard and plastic waste wherever possible.

Food safety System

The quality and food safety management system, drawn up in accordance with the ‘International Food Standard’ (IFS), is based on the "Codex Alimentarius HACCP principles", which also complies with the Dutch and European legislation for a food safety system. 
The management will ensure that all operational activities comply with the set standards, guidelines, legislation and regulations.

The system comprises the following processes: purchasing (blank packaging materials and cleaning agents), goods receipt, storage, packaging, optional gas packaging and labelling. 
All raw materials and packaging are visually assessed on arrival and then stored in racks for a short period of time, after which the raw materials are packaged and the end product is made ready for transport.

Because we only carry out co-pack activities (with the exception of the purchase of blank packaging materials and cleaning agents), our customers are responsible and liable for, among other things, the following processes:

* Purchasing (raw material and own packaging material)
* Supplier assessment (raw material and own packaging material)
* Transport
* T.H.T. (Best Before Date) guarantee
* Product Analyses
* Text / information on blank labels printed by us

IFS FOOD

Skal Bio-monitoring is committed as an independent supervisor for guaranteed reliability of organic products in the Netherlands.

SKAL

The IFS Food Standard is a GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) recognized standard for auditing food manufacturers.

Pest Control

In order to guarantee effective pest prevention and control, we have outsourced this to a specialised and competent external pest control company, which is a member of the Dutch Association of Pest Control Companies (NVO).
We only use the legally permitted (non-toxic) pesticides.
